'Nam June Paik'. You all know the famous name. He was an artist with a spirit of experimentation and a spirit of challenge. He also maintained a window with the world, expanded the base of Korean art by working in the world, and strived for synergy and fusion of artistic people. Looking at her reminds me of Nam June Paik's actions. She is a visual artist who aims for mutual comfort with the audience while conducting art projects that include performance-centered photography, poetry, video, installation art, and audience participation art. She also pursues integrated art by breaking down boundaries between fields through continuous exchanges and collaborations with artists.

'백남준'. 유명한 그 이름을 모두 다 아실겁니다. 그는 지독한 실험정신과 도전정신을 지닌 아티스트였습니다. 또한, 세계와의 창구를 유지하고, 세계에서 활동하며 한국 예술의 저변을 넓혔으며, 예술인 간의 시너지와 융합을 위해 노력했습니다. 그녀를 보면 백남준의 행보가 떠오릅니다. 그녀는 퍼포먼스를 중심으로 한 사진, 시, 영상, 설치미술, 관객참여미술 등을 아우르는 예술 프로젝트를 진행하면서, 관객과의 상호위로를 목표로 하는 시각예술가입니다. 또한 꾸준히 아티스트들과의 교류와 협업을 통해 분야간의 경계를 허물고 통합적 예술을 추구하고 있습니다.

"Nam June Paik". Sie alle kennen den berühmten Namen. Er war ein Künstler mit Experimentierfreude und Herausforderungsgeist. Er pflegte auch ein Fenster zur Welt, erweiterte die Basis der koreanischen Kunst durch Arbeiten in der Welt und strebte nach Synergie und Verschmelzung von Künstlern. Wenn ich sie anschaue, erinnert mich das an Nam June Paiks Taten. Sie ist eine bildende Künstlerin, die darauf abzielt, sich mit dem Publikum gegenseitig wohlzufühlen, während sie Kunstprojekte durchführt, die Performance-zentrierte Fotografie, Poesie, Video, Installationskunst und Kunst zur Beteiligung des Publikums umfassen. Until recently, I was working on a project to let go of the painful memories of the past and settle into the present life. Before the Corona crisis, I performed with the works I made and installed to communicate directly with the audience and form empathy. And we had a time of mutual comfort and sympathy by sharing painful experiences with each other. However, after the Corona crisis, it became difficult to face the audience, and I had to find another way.
저는 과거의 괴로웠던 기억들을 떠나보내고 현재의 삶에 안착하는 프로젝트를 최근까지 작업했습니다. 코로나 사태 전, 저는 제가 만들고 설치한 작품과 함께 퍼포먼스를 하며 관객과 직접 소통하고 공감을 형성했습니다. 그리고 서로 아픈 경험들을 나누며 상호위로와 공감의 시간을 가졌습니다. 그러나 코로나 사태 이후 관객들을 대면하기 어려워졌고, 저는 다른 방법을 찾아야 했습니다.
Bis vor kurzem arbeitete ich an einem Projekt, um die schmerzhaften Erinnerungen an die Vergangenheit loszulassen und mich im gegenwärtigen Leben zurechtzufinden. Vor der Corona-Krise trat ich mit den von mir gemachten und installierten Arbeiten auf, um direkt mit dem Publikum zu kommunizieren und Empathie zu bilden. Und wir hatten eine Zeit gegenseitigen Trostes und Mitgefühls, indem wir schmerzhafte Erfahrungen miteinander teilten. Nach der Corona-Krise wurde es jedoch schwierig, sich dem Publikum zu stellen, und ich musste einen anderen Weg finden.
So I started sharing my impressions of my work with artists through a video conferencing application. I also exhibited videos of my work with them, and works that responded to my work in their artistic language, along with my work. Thankfully to me, I heard that this style of my work is somewhat new in Korea.
그래서 저는 화상회의 어플리케이션을 통해 아티스트들과 제 작품에 대한 감상을 나누기 시작했습니다. 그리고 제 작품에 대해 그들과 이야기를 나눈 영상과, 그들의 예술적 언어로 제 작품에 화답한 작품을 각기 제 작품과 함께 전시하였습니다. 제게는 감사하게도, 이러한 제 작품의 스타일이 한국에서는 다소 새롭다는 평을 들었습니다.
Also fing ich an, meine Eindrücke meiner Arbeit über eine Videokonferenzanwendung mit Künstlern zu teilen. Ich habe auch Videos meiner Arbeit mit ihnen ausgestellt und Arbeiten, die in ihrer künstlerischen Sprache auf meine Arbeit reagierten, zusammen mit meiner Arbeit. Zum Glück habe ich gehört, dass dieser Stil meiner Arbeit in Korea etwas neu ist.
Anxiety and lack are the driving forces behind me to keep improving to get better. An efficient and systematic plan must be established to fully implement the proposed intentions. But looking back, there are still shortcomings. For inspiration, I look at various works of art, travel, have conversations, listen to music, and read books in philosophy, aesthetics, and literature. It's also important to be open-minded and honest about feedback.
더 나아지기 위한 향상심을 유지하는 제 원동력은 불안과 결핍입니다. 제기 의도한 바들을 완벽히 시행하기 위해 효율적이고 체계적인 계획을 수립해야 합니다. 하지만 돌아보면 여전히 부족한 부분이 보입니다. 이를 보충할 영감을 얻기 위해 다양한 예술작품들을 보거나, 여행을 하고, 대화를 나누고, 음악을 듣고, 철학, 미학, 문학 분야의 책을 읽습니다. 또한 피드백에 대한 열린 마음과 거짓없는 솔직한 자세도 중요합니다.
Angst und Mangel sind die treibenden Kräfte hinter mir, mich weiter zu verbessern, um besser zu werden. Es muss ein effizienter und systematischer Plan erstellt werden, um die vorgeschlagenen Absichten vollständig umzusetzen. Rückblickend gibt es aber noch Defizite. Zur Inspiration schaue ich mir verschiedene Kunstwerke an, reise, führe Gespräche, höre Musik und lese Bücher in Philosophie, Ästhetik und Literatur. Es ist auch wichtig, offen und ehrlich mit Feedback umzugehen.
'Grayish Neutral' is a work that I made by considering and interpreting the concept of 'moderate' without bias. I painted my body with black, white and gray paints. It is a performance in the sense of maintaining a balance between black and white and accepting the other party without prejudice. As such, 'gray of moderation' is the identity I pursue and the fundamental concept of my work. Until this year, I wanted to touch the pain and wounds of myself and others, but next year, I want to implement a brighter and more humorous project. I will also continue to develop a style in which the production and exhibition of the participants becomes part of the overall project. Thanks for reading.
치우침 없는 '중용'의 개념을 제 나름대로 고찰하고 해석하여 만든 작품으로 'Grayish Neutral'이 있습니다. 검은색, 흰색, 그리고 회색 물감을 제 몸에 칠했습니다. 흑과 백의 사이 밸런스를 유지하고 상대방을 편견없이 수용한다는 의미의 퍼포먼스입니다. 이렇듯 '중용의 회색'은 제가 추구하는 아이덴티티이면서, 제 작품활동의 근간 개념입니다. 올해까지는 나와 사람들의 고통과 상처를 어루만지고자 했다면, 내년에는 좀 더 밝고 유머러스한 프로젝트를 구현하고 싶네요. 또한 저는 앞으로도 참여자의 제작 및 전시가 전체 기획의 일부가 되는 스타일을 발전시켜보겠습니다. 읽어주셔서 감사합니다.
„Grayish Neutral“ ist eine Arbeit, die ich gemacht habe, indem ich das Konzept von „moderat“ ohne Vorurteile betrachtete und interpretierte. Ich bemalte meinen Körper mit schwarzer, weißer und grauer Farbe. Es ist eine Aufführung in dem Sinne, die Balance zwischen Schwarz und Weiß zu wahren und den anderen vorurteilslos zu akzeptieren. Als solches ist „Grau der Mäßigung“ die Identität, die ich verfolge, und das grundlegende Konzept meiner Arbeit. Bis zu diesem Jahr wollte ich den Schmerz und die Wunden von mir und anderen berühren, aber nächstes Jahr möchte ich ein helleres und humorvolleres Projekt umsetzen. Ich werde auch einen Stil weiterentwickeln, bei dem die Produktion und Ausstellung der Beteiligten Teil des Gesamtprojekts wird. Danke fürs Lesen.
