그래픽 디자이너이자 고양이 쿠키의 집사로 활동하는 제로향(한상현)은 스스로를 평범한 회사원이라 말하지만, 그의 작업실 모니터 안에서는 독창적인 시각적 재편이 이루어진다. 현실의 제약을 넘어 포토샵을 매개로 구축되는 그의 캔버스는, 일상적인 피사체인 고양이를 위트 있고 깊이감 있는 비주얼 아트의 영역으로 확장시킨다.

처음에는 단순하게 우리 집 쿠키를 자랑하고 싶은 마음에 사진을 찍어 SNS에 올리기 시작했어요. 하지만 그것만으로는 충분한 만족을 얻기 어렵더라고요. 쿠키라는 고양이의 특별함을 일반적인 사진 한 장으로 온전히 담아내기 힘들었기에, 그래픽 디자이너로 일하며 다뤄온 재능과 기술을 조금씩 더해 나가기 시작했습니다. 도심 배경 속에 거대한 쿠키를 배치하거나 특별한 활동을 펼치는 모습을 만들어내면서 조금씩 쿠키를 좋아해 주는 분들도 늘어나게 되었죠.

Zerohyang (Han Sang-hyun), a graphic designer and the devoted owner of a cat named Cookie, describes himself as an ordinary office worker; yet, on the monitor in his studio, he orchestrates imaginative visual transformations. Transcending the constraints of reality, his digital canvases—crafted using Photoshop—elevate the everyday subject of his cat into the realm of witty, profound visual art.

At first, I simply started taking photos of Cookie and posting them on social media because I wanted to show him off. However, that alone didn't quite satisfy me. Since a standard photograph couldn't fully capture Cookie's unique charm, I began incorporating the skills and talents I had honed as a graphic designer. As I created images of a giant-sized Cookie set against urban backdrops or engaged in extraordinary activities, the number of people who adored him gradually grew.

Zerohyang (Han Sang-hyun), Grafikdesigner und Butler der Katze Cookie, bezeichnet sich selbst als gewöhnlichen Büroangestellten. Doch hinter dem Monitor seines Studios vollzieht sich eine einzigartige visuelle Transformation. Jenseits der Grenzen der Realität erhebt seine mit Photoshop erstellte Leinwand das alltägliche Motiv einer Katze zu geistreicher und tiefgründiger Kunst.

Anfangs habe ich einfach Fotos gemacht und sie in den sozialen Medien gepostet, weil ich meine Katze Cookie zeigen wollte. Doch das allein reichte mir nicht. Da es schwierig war, Cookies Einzigartigkeit in einem einzigen Foto einzufangen, begann ich nach und nach meine Fähigkeiten als Grafikdesigner einzusetzen. Ich schuf Szenen, in denen Cookie vor urbanem Hintergrund oder bei besonderen Aktivitäten dargestellt wurde, und so wuchs die Zahl derer, die Cookie mochten, stetig.

그녀의 예술적 아이덴티티를 관통하는 핵심 개념은 치우침 없는 '중용'이다. 이 철학적 고찰은 작품 'Grayish Neutral'을 통해 구체화되었다. 퍼포먼스 과정에서 <민지혜>는 흑과 백의 대비되는 색상뿐만 아니라 그 사이의 균형을 상징하는 회색 물감을 자신의 몸에 직접 칠하는 행위를 선보였다. 이는 극단적인 두 가치 사이에서 밸런스를 유지하고자 하는 의지의 표명이자, 사회적 편견 없이 상대방을 포용하고 수용하겠다는 태도를 의미한다. '중용의 회색'은 그녀의 작업을 지탱하는 가장 단단한 근간 철학으로 자리 잡았다.

The core concept defining her artistic identity is the "Golden Mean"—a state of balance free from extremes. This philosophical inquiry found tangible expression in the work *Grayish Neutral*. During the performance, Min Ji-hye applied gray paint directly to her body—a color symbolizing the balance between the contrasting hues of black and white. This act signifies both a determination to maintain equilibrium between opposing extremes and an attitude of embracing and accepting others without social prejudice. The "gray of the Golden Mean" has thus established itself as the solid philosophical foundation underpinning her work.

Das zentrale Konzept ihrer künstlerischen Identität ist die „Mäßigung“, frei von Vorurteilen. Diese philosophische Betrachtung fand ihren Ausdruck in dem Werk „Grau-Neutral“. Während der Performance demonstrierte Min Ji-hye das direkte Auftragen grauer Farbe auf ihren Körper und symbolisierte damit nicht nur den Kontrast zwischen Schwarz und Weiß, sondern auch das Gleichgewicht zwischen ihnen. Dies verdeutlicht ihren Willen, die Balance zwischen zwei extremen Werten zu wahren, und ihre Haltung der Akzeptanz und des Empfangens anderer ohne soziale Vorurteile. Das „Grau der Mäßigung“ hat sich als die solideste Grundlage ihrer Arbeit etabliert.

지금까지는 자신과 주변 사람들의 고통과 상처를 어루만지고 치유하는 작업에 집중해왔습니다. 하지만 앞으로는 작업의 톤을 전환하여 좀 더 밝고 유머러스한 분위기의 프로젝트를 구현하고 싶습니다. 참여자의 제작과 전시가 전체 기획의 일부가 되는 참여형 스타일을 지속적으로 발전시켜나가는 것이 구체적인 계획입니다. 제가 나누고 싶은 이야기가 있는 한 체력이 다할 때까지 예술 활동을 이어갈 생각입니다.

Up to this point, I have focused on the process of soothing and healing the pain and emotional wounds of both myself and those around me. Moving forward, however, I intend to shift the tone of my work and realize projects with a brighter, more humorous atmosphere. My specific plan is to continue developing a participatory style in which the creation and exhibition work of the participants themselves become integral parts of the overall project. As long as I have stories to share, I intend to pursue my artistic practice for as long as my physical strength allows.

Bislang habe ich mich auf Arbeiten konzentriert, die den Schmerz und die Wunden in mir und meinem Umfeld lindern und heilen. Künftig möchte ich jedoch den Ton meiner Arbeit verändern und Projekte mit einer heiteren und humorvolleren Atmosphäre schaffen. Mein konkreter Plan ist es, einen partizipativen Ansatz weiterzuentwickeln, bei dem die Beiträge und Ausstellungen der Teilnehmenden integraler Bestandteil des Gesamtprojekts werden. Solange ich Geschichten zu erzählen habe, werde ich meine künstlerische Tätigkeit fortsetzen, solange meine körperlichen Kräfte reichen.

아티스트로서의 외형적 위치보다는 모두가 같은 방향을 바라보고 끝까지 그 방향성을 유지하는 것이 중요하다고 믿는 <민지혜>. 상처의 기록을 넘어 타인과의 유쾌한 연대를 꿈꾸는 그녀의 행보는, 흑과 백으로 양분된 세계 속에서 회색이 지닌 포용의 가치를 증명하고 있다. 다양한 작품으로 대중과의 접점을 넓혀가려는 그녀의 시도는, 캔버스 너머의 관객에게 삶의 균형이란 끊임없는 자기 성찰과 포용을 통해 완성되는 것임을 정직하게 전달하고 있다.

Min Ji-hye believes that rather than focusing on her outward standing as an artist, what truly matters is for everyone to look in the same direction and steadfastly maintain that course. Moving beyond the mere documentation of past wounds, she envisions a joyful solidarity with others, demonstrating the inclusive value of "gray" within a world often polarized into black and white. Through her efforts to connect with the public via diverse works, she honestly conveys to viewers—far beyond the canvas—that a balanced life is achieved through ceaseless self-reflection and inclusivity.

Min Ji-hye ist überzeugt, dass es wichtiger ist, gemeinsam in dieselbe Richtung zu blicken und diesen Weg bis zum Ende zu verfolgen, als sich auf ihren äußeren Status als Künstlerin zu konzentrieren. Ihre Reise, die von einer freudvollen Solidarität mit anderen jenseits der Wunden träumt, beweist den Wert der Inklusivität, die in den Grautönen einer in Schwarz und Weiß geteilten Welt liegt.
